Tajikistan increases import of oil products from Russia, Kazakhstan

Tajikistan has increased import of oil products from Russia and Kazakhstan in Q1 of 2014, Avesta.Tj reported referring to Tajik ministry of economic development and trade.

Russia ranks first in Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover, while Tajikistan mostly imports lubricants from Russia.

In the first quarter of 2014 Tajikistan imported 171,000 tons of oil products from Russia worth $140 million. The import volume increased by more than 141,200 tons compared to January-March, 2013.

At the same time Tajikistan increases oil products import from Kazakhstan as well - the volumes of import amounted to over 13,100 tons in January-March 2014, which is 8,900 tons more than during the same period of 2013.

In total, Tajikistan imported 194,000 tons of oil products in the first quarter of this year.

Tajikistan has also increased domestic manufacturing of oil products, which amounted to over 5,700 tons in the first quarter of 2014.
