On the same day, the lower chamber of the Tajik parliament ratified an investment agreement signed by the Chinese company, Tajik government and Pakrut LLC in April 2017.

The development of the Pakrut gold mine was started by the Chinese side in 2012, and more than $180 million have been spent so far for this purpose. It is planned to lure additional $76 million.

In 2030, gold mining under this project may be transferred under the jurisdiction of Tajikistan by mutual consent.
