BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon emphasized the importance of boosting measures to achieve sustainable development goals, Trend reports via press service of the President of Tajikistan.
During his speech at the 78th session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), Rahmon noted the importance of strengthening the country's infrastructure development, the establishing regional logistics centers, the introducing digital technologies, and the intelligent transport system within ESCAP to completely break the communication deadlock and turn it into a transit country.
Moreover, in order to implement programs to address water issues, it was noted that in the framework of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development" Tajikistan will hold Second Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference supported by the UN on 6-9 June 2022.
The conference will focus on the theme, ‘Catalyzing water action and partnership at the local, national, regional and global levels,’ for the water-smart recovery path in a post-COVID-19 world.
