BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 24. Tajikistan exported 27.8 tons of cabbage for $17,600 to Kyrgyzstan in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The figure increased by 4 percent over 2021, when Tajikistan exported to Kyrgyzstan 26.6 tons of cabbage for $6,900.

According to the Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan Kurbon Hakimzoda, the country exported more than 191,000 tons of agricultural products in 2022.

The value of agricultural exports from Tajikistan amounted to $54.3 million in 2022, which is by $17.6 million more than in 2021.

"More than 40 percent of total exports of agricultural products were vegetables - 76,600 tons, of which 66,600 tons were onions. Fruit exports accounted for 29 percent of the total volume or 54,500 tons," the minister said.

Hakimzoda said that Russia and Kazakhstan became the main markets for Tajik vegetables and fruits in 2022. He said Tajikistan's Ministry of Agriculture will especially focus on growing cotton, potatoes, onions and carrots in 2023.

Agricultural production in Tajikistan amounted to 49.3 billion somoni ($4.8 billion) in 2022, which is an increase of 8 percent compared to 2021.
