BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3. Trade turnover between Tajikistan and the Russian Tatarstan Republic amounted to $30.7 million in 2022, the press service of the head of Tatarstan said, Trend reports with reference to Russian media.
According to the service, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Tajikistan increased by 57 percent in 2022, compared to the preceding year.
The issue was discussed during the meeting between the Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
Following the meeting, the Tajik president said that the country is committed to the development of contacts for the establishment of trade, economic and humanitarian ties.
In turn, Minnikhanov noted that the exchange of visits gives the sides an impulse to build up cooperation in all areas.
"A number of Tatarstan enterprises already supply their products to Tajikistan. I think it is necessary to activate cooperation in the trade and economic sphere," Minnikhanov said.
Rustam Minnikhanov is currently on a working visit to Tajikistan. He, as a part of the Russian delegation, took part in the ninth conference on interregional cooperation Business and Investment Partnership between Russia and Tajikistan on March 2 in Dushanbe. The conference was timed to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s visit to Tajikistan.
