BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. The volume of loans, allocated in Tajikistan amounted to 14.4 billion ($1.3 billion) in 2022, which is 700 million somoni ($64.2 million) more than in 2021, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank of Tajikistan.

According to the bank, the share of 39 percent of the total loans falls on consumption sector, 16.9 percent – on agriculture, 14 percent – on foreign trade, 10.3 percent – on industry, 10.2 percent – on service sector, 3.7 percent – on construction, 1.7 percent – on transport, and 4.2 percent – on the other economic sectors.

Reportedly, the share of the loans allocated to the entrepreneurs accounted for 61 percent or 8.8 billion somoni ($807 million), in the reporting period.

Meanwhile, the volume of allocated microcredit in Tajikistan totaled 10.5 billion somoni ($963 million) in 2022, which is an increase of 14.3 percent over the indicators of 2021.

The weighted average of the interest rates of the loan in Tajikistan made up 23.3 percent in national currency, which is less by 0.6 p.p compared to 2021, and 12 percent in foreign currency, which is a decrease of 1 p.p.

Credit investments is one of the measures for facilitating the stable growth of the economy, developing domestic production, increasing the export potential and creation of new jobs in Tajikistan.
