BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. China Road and Bridge Corporation is going to take part in the construction of roads and bridges in the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region of Tajikistan, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan.
The agreement on cooperation was signed between the Chinese company and the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan on March 27, in Dushanbe.
The Chinese company undertook to construct a 200 meter-long bridge in the Khorog city of the country, across the Gunt river, as well as surrounding roads with the length of 1.1 km.
In addition, the agreement provides for the construction of a 3.4-km road through the territory of the Barsem village in the Shughnon district of Tajikistan.
The agreement also included the construction of anti-avalanche galleries (550 meters) and a bridge (82.3 meters) on the Khorog-Murgab section of the road.
The ministry said that the total budget of the project is estimated at $31.2 million, and the implementation period is 30 months from the launch of construction work.
The Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, a project group under the Ministry, and the joint consulting company consisting of South Korean ISAN Corporation and Kazakh M50 Consulting Group are designated to supervise the project’s implementation.
