BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Tajikistan's imports of plastic, rubber, and articles thereof from Türkiye grew during the period from January through May 2023, compared to the same months of 2022, Trend reports.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, Tajikistan imported these products for a total of $16.7 million during the specified period, representing an 82.9 percent increase compared to the corresponding months of 2022 ($9.1 million).
Specifically, Tajikistan imported plastic and plastic products from Türkiye amounting to $15.6 million from January through May 2023, indicating an 86.5 percent surge compared to the same period in 2022 ($8.3 million).
Furthermore, Tajikistan imported rubber and rubber-based articles from Türkiye worth $1.1 million, representing a 44.3 percent increase compared to $787,118 imported from January through May 2022.
The overall trade turnover between Türkiye and Tajikistan reached $224.5 million during the period from January through May 2023, which is an 18-percent increase compared to $190.2 million in the corresponding period of 2022.
During this period, export supplies from Türkiye to Tajikistan reached $153.4 million, increasing 43.8 percent compared to the same months of 2022 ($106.7). Turkish imports from Kyrgyzstan decreased by 14.9 percent – from 83.5 million to $71 million.
