DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 4. A total of 2,077 tons of yarn were exported from Tajikistan’s Sughd region from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the authorities of the region, the value of this export amounted to $5.3 million, which is $4 million more than in the same period of 2022.
Furthermore, the region also exported 816 tons of clothing worth $12.8 million. Compared to the same period last year, the value of the export increased by $1.8 million.
In the agriculture sector, 85,185 tons of agricultural products were exported, with a value of $18.1 million. Among these products, 24,620 tons worth $10.1 million accounted for desiccated fruits.
A total foreign trade turnover of the region from January through June 2023 amounted to $1.35 billion. Imports totaled $926.2 million, while exports stood at $424.6 million.
Foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan's Sughd region amounted to $3.1 billion in 2022. The region exported goods worth $1 billion. The main exported goods included metals and concentrates, cotton, agricultural products, and clothing. At the same time, the region’s imports reached nearly $2.1 billion.
