DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 10. The inflation rate remains at 2.3 percent in Tajikistan for the first half of 2023, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, Ashurboy Solehzoda said, Trend reports.
The inflation rate remains stable as a result of rise in prices for both food and non-food products.
According to the deputy minister, prices for food products increased by three percent, and for non–food products - by 2.9 percent.
Prices for beef rose by 4.3 percent, potatoes – by 28.6 percent, rice – by 43 percent, and the price of sugar increased by 23.5 percent.
The deputy minister also stressed that at the same time, there is a decrease in the cost of the following goods:
flour of the first and second grade – by 17 percent;
vegetable oil – by 22.9 percent;
tomatoes – by 71.6 percent;
cucumbers – by 57.4 percent;
eggs – by 21.2 percent;
milk – by 1.9 percent.
Solehzoda also stated that the increase in prices for non-food products is mainly due to the rise in price of gasoline by 16.4 percent, medicines by 8.4 percent, construction materials by 4.5 percent and cleaning products by 3.2 percent.
