DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 28. The World Bank (WB) has approved a $57.25 million financing for the "Healthy Nation" project in Tajikistan, Trend reports.
The "Healthy Nation" project aims to assist the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Tajikistan in enhancing the healthcare system. In the capital, Dushanbe, it is set to be implemented by the "Smart City" state enterprise.
The project includes the modernization of the healthcare system, digitization in the field of primary healthcare services, and the implementation of healthcare financing reforms, including new methods of compensating primary healthcare workers.
In Dushanbe, the program is planned to be integrated with the urban eTib project, which also envisions the digitalization of clinics and telemedicine. The project will contribute to and support the overall goal of the recently adopted "Population Health Strategy of Tajikistan until 2030".
Tajikistan became a member of the WB in 1993. Since then, the WB has given Tajikistan more than $2.7 billion in grants and low-interest loans to help reduce poverty and enhance the well-being of its people.
