DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 31. Seven large industrial enterprises have commenced operations in Tajikistan's capital, Dushanbe, offering more than 4,000 job opportunities, Trend reports.
These include the renovated "Gulistoni Dushanbe" sewing factory, the "Carpets Dushanbe" enterprise, the "Arvis" textile factory, as well as confectionery and vegetable oil processing plants.
The establishment of these production facilities involved the importation of modern equipment from countries such as Japan, the US, Italy, China, the UK, Russia, Türkiye, and others. During President Emomali Rahmon's visits to these enterprises, he observed the manufactured products and underscored the significance of concentrating on export development.
The press service of the President of Tajikistan has reported that these enterprises were launched as part of the "Year of Industrial Development" (2022-2026) to fulfill the objectives of the country's accelerated industrialization strategy.
In January 2022, President Rahmon declared 2022-2026 as the 'Years of Industrial Development' for Tajikistan, with ambitious plans to boost industrial production by 2.5 times in five years, aiming to reach 95 billion somoni ($9.3 billion) in 2026, up from 38.8 billion somoni ($3.7 billion) in 2021. Additionally, the government aspires to establish and operate a total of 870 new industrial enterprises by 2026.
