DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 1. A vegetable oil production plant has been opened in Tajikistan’s Dushanbe, Trend reports.
The plant is expected to produce up to 70 tons of oil per day and 2,100 tons of various high-quality oils per month, according to local official sources.
The plant processes cotton, safflower, soybeans, and sunflower to produce the oil. The facility covers an area of 1 hectare and was included in the country's industrialization strategy program.
Currently, the plant employs 50 workers, but there are plans to increase the workforce as production capacity expands. The production of vegetable oil incorporates modern technologies from China, Japan, Poland, and other countries.
The plant's establishment aims to meet the demand for high-quality domestically produced goods in Tajikistan.
In addition to the vegetable oil plant, several other enterprises, including the renovated "Gulistoni Dushanbe" sewing factory, the "Carpets Dushanbe" enterprise, and the "Arvis" textile factory, have been launched in Dushanbe. These initiatives align with the country's accelerated industrialization strategy for 2022-2026.
In January 2022, President Rahmon declared this period as the 'Years of Industrial Development' with ambitious plans to boost industrial production by 2.5 times in five years, aiming to reach 95 billion somoni ($9.3 billion) in 2026, up from 38.8 billion somoni ($3.7 billion) in 2021.
