DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 2. An electrical equipment manufacturing plant called "Imod" has been launched in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, Trend reports.

This facility features 16 production lines dedicated to the manufacturing of 36 different types of electrical products, including electricity meters, elevators, and electric and solar water heaters, among others.

The plant is set to produce 500 elevators annually, with 40 percent of their components sourced from domestic enterprises. "Imod" utilizes state-of-the-art technology lines from renowned manufacturers in Italy, Finland, Germany, Türkiye, and China, all integrated with digital programming. This new facility comprises four workshops.

Meanwhile, Dushanbe has seen the launch of several other enterprises, such as the renovated "Gulistoni Dushanbe" sewing factory, the "Carpets Dushanbe" enterprise, and the "Arvis" textile factory. These endeavors align with Tajikistan's accelerated industrialization strategy for 2022–2026.

In January 2022, President Rahmon declared this period the 'Years of Industrial Development' with ambitious plans to increase industrial production by 2.5 times within five years, aiming to reach 95 billion somoni ($9.3 billion) by 2026, up from 38.8 billion somoni ($3.7 billion) in 2021.
