DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 14. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is ready to finance the construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant (HPP) in Tajikistan with $130 million, the bank's Deputy Chairman of the Board, Denis Ilin, said during a press conference in Kazakhstan's Almaty, Trend reports.
He also mentioned that the bank is considering allocating an additional sum of around $100 million for the modernization of Dushanbe Airport.
"We are actively in negotiations with Dushanbe Airport, Somon Air airline, along with Orient Bank, for a program involving the modernization of the aircraft fleet and the construction of a technical base for aircraft maintenance," he said.
Ilin clarified that these are two major projects, significantly surpassing the stated amounts in the country strategy of the EDB for Tajikistan until 2026.
