DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 9. Tajikistan imported 1.413 million tons of oil products in 2023, which is 164,200 tons more than the previous year, Trend reports.
This was announced at a press conference by the Antimonopoly Service under the Government of Tajikistan.
Of these, 436,500 tons were diesel fuel. Diesel fuel imports increased by 49,400 tons compared to 2022, with a total value of $327.7 million. Additionally, Tajikistan imported 348,100 tons of gasoline, 411,000 tons of liquefied gas, and 218,000 tons of other oil products.
Overall, the cost of Tajikistan's oil product imports amounted to $892 million.
Meanwhile, at an extended meeting of the Government of Tajikistan, President Emomali Rahmon announced that Tajikustan's trade turnover amounted to 56.1 billion somoni ($5.136 billion) in 2023, which is 13.4 percent higher than in 2022.
