Tajikistan boosts food products export in 2023

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 10. Tajikistan exported food products worth $50.1 million abroad in 2023, Tajikistan's Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Sherali Kabir, told journalists, Trend reports.

According to him, the figure increased by 17.6 percent, or $7.5 million, compared to $42.6 million in 2022.

Specifically, last year Tajikistan exported 81,800 tons of dried fruits, 27,400 tons of soft drinks, 577 tons of salt, 1,900 tons of canned fruits and vegetables, 7,100 tons of flour, 445.9 tons of confectionery products, and 664 tons of gelatin to other countries.

He noted that the export of dried fruits increased by 1.6 times, soft drinks by 1.7 times, animal feed by 2 times, and flour by 13.4 percent.

Meanwhile, at an extended meeting of the Government of Tajikistan, President Emomali Rahmon announced that Tajikistan's trade turnover amounted to 56.1 billion somoni ($5.136 billion) in 2023, which is 13.4 percent higher than in 2022.
