Tajikistan shares data on humanitarian aid received in 2023

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, March 4. Tajikistan received humanitarian assistance from a total of 61 countries, both near and far, in 2023, Trend reports.

According to data from the National Statistical Agency under the President of Tajikistan, the aid was valued at $94.868 million and weighed 23,024 tons. It served as a crucial lifeline for the country during times of need.

Notably, China emerged as the leading contributor, accounting for 30.6 percent of the total assistance, followed closely by the US at 26.2 percent.

Other significant contributors included Belgium (9.3 percent), Russia (4.8 percent), Japan (3.9 percent), India (3 percent), Germany (2.8 percent), Denmark (2.4 percent), Italy (2.2 percent), and Kazakhstan (2 percent), among others.

In 2022, Tajikistan received an unprecedentedly large amount of humanitarian aid, totaling around $141 million. Previously, the largest amount of aid by value received by the republic was in 2013 ($87.4 million), while the least significant amount was in 2015 ($44.8 million).
