DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 17. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) anticipates Tajikistan's inflation to reach 4.9 percent in 2024, which is a slight improvement from its previous forecast of 5.7 percent made in October, Trend reports.
The IMF's updated projection by 0.8 percentage points. Looking ahead, IMF analysts project that inflation will rise to 6.3 percent in 2025.
In parallel, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) foresees Tajikistan's inflation climbing to 5.5 percent in 2024, and a further increase to 6.5 percent by 2025.
In addition to the forecasts provided by the IMF and the ADB, the World Bank (WB) has also weighed in on Tajikistan's inflation outlook. According to the WB, Tajikistan's inflation rate in 2024 is expected to be 4.7 percent, slightly lower than the IMF's projection. Looking further ahead, the WB anticipates inflation to rise steadily, reaching 6 percent in both 2025 and 2026.
According to the National Bank of Tajikistan, the annual inflation rate in the country for February 2024 stood at 3.6 percent. In 2023, Tajikistan's inflation rate was 3.8 percent, which was 0.4 percent lower than in 2022 (4.2 percent).
