DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 24. Tajikistan and Iran have discussed the transportation of crude oil for the needs of Tajikistan oil refineries, Trend reports.

According to the country's Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, Tajikistan's Minister Daler Juma and Iran's Minister of Energy, Abbas Aliabadi, held talks on this matter.

The parties also exchanged views on Tajikistan's international initiatives in water and climate issues, the significance of the Rogun hydropower plant for the region, and the project aimed at connecting Tajikistan to a unified energy system of Central Asia.

Juma and Aliabadi co-chair the joint intergovernmental commission between Tajikistan and Iran, which focuses on trade-economic, technical, scientific, and cultural cooperation. They also discussed the current state and prospects of trade, economic, and investment collaboration between the two countries.

Meanwhile, in February, Tajikistan's Minster of Economic Development Zavqi Zavqizoda announced that Azerbaijan's SOCAR state oil company would assist in the launch and supply of raw materials for the Tajik oil refinery "TK-Oil," located in the Dangara free economic zone. Tajikistan is also in discussions regarding oil supplies with Tatarstan's Tatneft oil company.
