A delegation headed by Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross' (ICRC) regional office in Central Asia Yves Arnoldy has arrived to Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday.
The delegation is holding a series of meetings in the ministries and departments and representatives of the Red Crescent Society in Turkmenistan.
"A meeting held at the Foreign Ministry discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation," the report says.
Turkmenistan has been working on implementing fundamental principles of international humanitarian law to national legislation in recent years.
The report also notes that the views exchange stress "the importance of the interdepartmental commission for ensuring the fulfillment of Turkmenistan's international obligations on human rights and international humanitarian law, which was established by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov's decree."
