Revenues of Turkmen state budget executed at 109.4 per cent in January

The revenues of the Turkmen state budget were executed at 109.4 per cent, and expenditure - 90.5 per cent in January, the country's Finance ministry said on Saturday.

During this period plan on all types of taxes was executed in full. Payment of wages, pensions, state benefits and scholarships was made timely, the report said.

The information also states that plan on receipt of currency resources through export of products and services was executed at 118 percent in January.

The Parliament of Turkmenistan, as previously reported, approved the law "On State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2012" in which the revenues of the state budget in 2012 exceed 74.908 billion manat, and its expenses - 76.398 million manat.

As expected, the budget revenues will exceed the 2011 figure due to higher rates of economic growth, investment activity, modernization of material-technical base of industries, the widespread introduction in the production of highly advanced technology.

The revenues will be formed at the expense of such important sectors as oil and gas, chemical, power generation, construction. Agricultural complex, transport and communication sector, textile and food industries will also develop.

Growth of revenues by promoting and encouraging the private sector of economy is also planned in 2012. Due to the further intensification of social and cultural sphere of the country expenditure budget will also increase in 2012.

"Significant funds will be allocated to financing education, health, culture, system of state social security, housing and communal services. Thus, the draft state budget for 2012 envisages to spend 76.7 per cent of funds to develop the social sector," the Parliament said earlier.

Significant investments will be directed to the implementation of large-scale national projects, including construction of new facilities of the national tourist zone "Avaz", the implementation of urban development program in the capital and the provinces, the construction of important facilities of social and cultural importance as well as industrial, transport and communication infrastructure.

Socio-protected items of expenditure budget are wages, pensions, allowances and scholarships. According to the previously signed decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, it was planned to increase the size of these payments from 1 January to 10 percent
