New town to appear in central Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to build a new modern village in the central region of the country, Rukhabat district of the Akhal region, the official Turkmen source said.

The document is aimed at the implementation of tasks arising from the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2011-2030 years and the program on transformation of social conditions of the inhabitants of villages, towns, cities, districts and regional centers for the period until 2020, creating the necessary conditions for the further improvement of living standards and social protection of population.

Authorities of the Akhal region is charged to coordinate and monitor the progress in the construction of buildings and structures in the new village, to develop a master plan and finance this work through the funds from a special collection for beautification.

Construction work scheduled to begin in March 2012 and completed in June 2016.
An area of 400 hectares on the north side of the Karakum River is allocated for a new village in Rukhabat. Dwelling houses, social and cultural objects will be built on the territory.

Conditions for future citizens will be created so that they can grow agricultural production and to maintain livestock.

The implementation of these projects will contribute to the dynamic development of the national economy, social infrastructure and, consequently, improve the level and quality of life of the Turkmen people, Berdimuhamedov said at a government meeting
