Turkmen President to establish exchange of business interests during Ukraine visit

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will pay a state visit to Ukraine on March 12-14, the Ukrainian News Information Agency reported with reference to a source at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
According to the information,a meeting was recently held between Deputy Foreign Minister Viktor Maiko and Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov in Ashgabat as part of political consultations covering urgent issues between the Ukrainian and Turkmen foreign ministries.
'Special attention was paid to the preparation for Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's forthcoming state visit to Ukraine, scheduled for March 12-14, 2012', a statement said.
Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary state news service reported that President Berdimuhamedov discussed the pending visit to Ukraine and instructed the heads of the relevant ministries to be included in the Turkmen delegation. This is to establish business contacts with representatives of leading Ukrainian companies to exchange modern experiences.
According to the Turkmen side, the country registered 29 enterprises with Ukrainian capital. About 63 projects totalling nearly $2 billion and more than 1.5 billion euros are being implemented.
