Delegation from Malaysia headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Anifah Aman held talks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Thursday, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said.
The sides noted the high level of Turkmen-Malaysian dialogue, which has acquired a qualitatively new content as a result of the official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Malaysia and Malaysian Prime Minister Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak's official visit in Turkmenistan, which took place in 2011.
In this context, Anifah Aman reiterated readiness of Malaysia for active cooperation with Turkmenistan as in the bilateral format and also in major international organizations, and in first the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The negotiators emphasized the existence of mutual understanding on a number of topical international issues, as well as the commitment of Turkmenistan and Malaysia to strengthen peace, security, stability and sustainable development.
Both sides also exchanged views on key issues of bilateral cooperation, the development of which both countries are paying attention.
Among the main areas of cooperation has been named partnership in the energy sector, processing industries, transport, high technology, education, science and culture.
