Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Aug. 18 / Trend H.Hasanov /

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation (Moscow) Berdimyrat Rejepov has been appointed at the same time Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Bulgaria, an official Turkmen source said on Saturday.

The relevant decree was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Ashgabat and Sofia in the framework of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Bulgarian economic cooperation commission periodically discuss the question of the possibilities of Turkmen gas supplies to Bulgaria.

In particular, the matter is how to implement the Nabucco gas pipeline project as one of the options for diversification of sources of raw materials to Europe.

Turkmenistan could join this project with the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline.

Nabucco shareholders are the Austrian OMV, Hungarian MOL, Bulgarian Bulgargaz, Romanian Transgaz, Turkish Botas and German RWE.

Bulgarian companies offer their services in the exploration, development and transportation of hydrocarbon resources, as well as establishing appropriate pipeline infrastructure.

Bulgarian sources reported that the two countries signed an agreement on cooperation in the agricultural industry.
