Negotiations with the US delegation led by the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs William Todd were held at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, said the ministry.

During the meeting the sides noted the fruitful results of cooperation in enhancing bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the US and expressed interest in their further diversification.

A joint action plan on development of cooperation between the two states in 2016 was also discussed.

In recent years, the US president's administration took a policy of rapprochement with Turkmenistan. Exhibitions of US companies, which are accompanied by high level business forums and business negotiations, are regularly held in Ashgabat.

Political consultations gained regular basis. The two countries continue cooperation in such spheres as supply of agricultural equipment, upgrading Turkmenistan's technical civil aviation fleet, power equipment import.

The US support regional gas projects from Turkmenistan, as TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) and Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline (through Azerbaijan and Turkey to Europe).
