President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov decided to entrust construction contracts worth several billion dollars to local private businesses at a meeting with members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
"In purpose of further socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and provision of support to entrepreneurs, I have decided to entrust the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan a contract for construction of an enterprise for production of potash fertilizers and high-speed Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway worth several billion US dollars," said the president of Turkmenistan.
He went on to add that until 2020 the share of non-state economy sector in the volume of gross domestic product must reach 70 percent.
"Entrepreneurs should set up joint ventures with foreign partners by attracting their investments," said the president.
Turkmenistan has set specific targets for the formation of market economy in the country, the necessary laws and other regulatory legal acts are being adopted.
"Turkmenistan provides great organizational and financial support to entrepreneurs of the country, which already yields positive results," Berdimuhamedov said. "Entrepreneurs constructed and commissioned dozens of large industrial enterprises, trade complexes and facilities in services sector."
