Turkmen Foreign Ministry officials had talks with Lilia Burunciuc, the World Bank regional director for the Central Asia Region, in Ashgabat.
The sides expressed interest in the development of socio-economic cooperation and institutional training, said the Turkmen Foreign Ministry in a message Jan. 27.
“The sides discussed the ongoing reforms aimed at improvement of the investment climate in Turkmenistan, strategies for expansion of private enterprises’ and entrepreneurs’ access to financing, and issues related to water resources management, stable economic growth and climate change,” reads the message.
World Bank earlier forecast Turkmenistan’s GDP growth rate at 6.5 percent in 2017, as compared to 6.2 percent in 2015.
Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of the natural gas reserves, according to BP.
