Turkmenistan continues exploration at biggest gas field

The Turkmengeologiya State Corporation of Turkmenistan continues exploration at the Galkynysh gas field and the adjacent areas, said the article of the Nebit-Gaz, the online newspaper of the country’s Oil and Gas Complex.

In particular, the drilling work at the third exploratory well “Osman A” of the Osman site, which is located close to the Galkynysh field, has been successfully completed, according to the article.

The inflow of high-pressure industrial natural gas in the volume of 1.220 million cubic meters per day was obtained at the well drilled 4,641-4,544 meters deep, the article said.

According to the audit held by the UK’s Gaffney, Cline & Associates, reserves of the Galkynysh field, together with reserves of the Yashlar field, are estimated at 26.2 trillion cubic meters of gas and reach 27.4 trillion cubic meters - together with reserves of the reopened Garakel field.

Currently, Turkmenistan delivers gas to Iran and China. The country also continues the construction of the Turkmen part of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
