Turkmenistan is ready to hold not only continental, but also world level sports events, said Chairman of the State Committee for Sports Toyly Komekov.
He made the remarks in Turkmenbashi Apr. 7 at the international sports congress titled “Asian Games 2017: International Sport Cooperation for Peace and Development”, Trend’s correspondent reported.
Many international experts, who familiarized themselves with preparations for the Asian Games, say Ashgabat is ready to host world level sports competitions, said Komekov.
He added that the sports infrastructure, put into operation, meets the highest international standards.
Ashgabat is the first city in the Central Asia that was honored to host the Asian Games, which is the result of successful foreign policy of Turkmenistan in turning the country into a center of peace and friendship, Komekov added.
