Election of members of parliament as well as local authorities will be held March 25 in Turkmenistan, the Turkmen government said on March 24.
The Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan has announced complete readiness at all polling stations in the country.
A mission of observers from the CIS states and experts of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights arrived in Turkmenistan to monitor the election process.
Voting will begin at 07:00 (local time) and end at 19:00.
A total of 2,963 observers were registered from the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Agrarian Party, public organizations and associations, as well as groups of citizens of the country.
A total of 284 candidates have been nominated for the election of members of parliament.
There are 2,604 polling stations in the country; 39 polling stations were formed at diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan abroad.
