Turkmenistan marks Constitution Day on May 18. This day is declared a holiday.
The ceremony of laying flowers to the monument of the Constitution is held, and the concert of masters of art and poetry will take place in the capital city.
"We treat the Constitution Day and the Day of State Flag with special respect as one of the significant dates that unite the people and increase their creative energy," President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The head of state noted that, large-scale programs and reforms aimed at bringing the country to the level of highly developed countries are being successfully implemented.
The current version of the Constitution was adopted in September 2016.
Article 12 of the Constitution states that Turkmenistan recognizes the right of private ownership of the means of production, land, and other material and intellectual property.
