During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran.

The diplomats spoke about the political, trade-economic and humanitarian issues. The effectiveness of collaboration between Turkmenistan's Mary and Iran's Razavi Khorasan provinces was underlined, particularly in trade-economic sphere and in providing consular services.

Expressing gratitude to the Turkmen side for warm wishes on the appointment as the Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mary city, Rasoul Jafari noted the significance of this region not only from the point of view of the development of political-diplomatic partnership, but also strengthening the cultural-humanitarian dialogue between the two fraternal countries.

The parties expressed the hope for continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In July, Ilyas Gayypov, the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Mashhad, was received by Razm Hosseini, Governor of Iran's Razavi Khorasan. The province, which has a 500 km joint border with Turkmenistan, has good potential in rail transit and the export sector.
