Turkmenistan, Egypt discuss cooperation in trade, economic sphere

Turkmenistan and Egypt have discussed cooperation in trade and economic spheres, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Prospects for deepening cooperation were discussed during a working meeting between representatives of Turkmenistan and Egypt in the framework of the preparations to the next joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Egypt Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation via videoconference on June 10, 2020.

The meeting was attended by heads and officials of ministries and institutions of the trade, financial and foreign economic spheres, as well as the oil and gas sectors and chambers of commerce and Industry of the two countries. Foreign ministers of the two countries also took part in the discussions.

The parties noted that visits of the heads of the two countries play an important role in promoting Turkmen-Egyptian relations. The participants discussed ways to expand cooperation between the business circles of the two countries as well as cooperation in the scientific field.

The sides considered the level of trade and economic relations between the countries and the impact of the pandemic on the world's economies and discussed opportunities for developing partnership in priority areas, including trade and investment, and the oil and gas sector.
