UAE, UK, Afghanistan buy liquefied gas from Turkmenistan

Entrepreneurs from the United Arab Emirates, the UK, and Afghanistan have purchased gasoline, liquefied gas, and petroleum road bitumen for foreign currency from Turkmenistan at the auction of country's State Commodity Exchange, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

Businessmen from Russia, UAE, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan also purchased smooth-colored and jacquard terry products, denim fabric, and cotton yarn for foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions for foreign currency exceeded $37.3 million.

In addition to foreign currency, transactions were also concluded for the Turkmen manat. Thus, the representatives of the UAE and Pakistan purchased handmade carpets, licorice root extract and cotton yarn for Turkmen manat.

The total amount of transactions for Turkmen manat was more than 17.8 million manat (over $5 million).

Entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan purchased polypropylene and high-density polyethylene, as well as cotton fiber for the total amount of more than 8.3 million Turkmen manat (over $2.3 million) for the domestic market.

In general, 72 transactions were registered at the auction of the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan last week.

The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
