ARETI presents proposals for dev’t of Turkmen Caspian shelf

President of ARETI International Group of Companies (IGC) Igor Makarov presented new proposals for the development of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea for consideration by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Trend reports citing the "Turkmenistan Today" news agency.

The mentioned proposals were presented during the meeting of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of ARETI International Group of Companies (IGC) Igor Makarov.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov informed that Turkmenistan is implementing an ‘open door’ policy and is in favor of strengthening long-term cooperation. The ongoing large-scale programs focused on the industrialization and digitalization of the national economy, progressive scientific and technological progress, as well as large infrastructure projects of regional and international importance, provide ample opportunities for expanding long-term cooperation with a long-term and reliable partner of the ARETI IGC.

It is noted that the main topic of discussion was the prospects for cooperation, taking into account the existing potential and plans for its implementation in the context of the priorities of the country's socio-economic development, primarily in the fuel and energy complex, in the field of construction and in the transport sector.

The head of ARETI stressed that Turkmenistan, possessing colossal natural resources, today enjoys great prestige in the world as a producer of energy resources. In this regard, special attention was paid to such key aspects of the country's energy strategy as diversifying energy supplies to world markets, increasing the capacity of the mining and processing segment, and developing the gas and petrochemical industry.

Makarov also reported on the ongoing work within the framework of the concluded contracts, including the promotion of projects, the implementation of which was entrusted to ARETI. Having expressed the company's readiness to expand the spheres of interaction, he presented new proposals for the development of the Turkmen Caspian shelf for consideration by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The head of the IGC said that the interest in this project is primarily due to the colossal potential of Turkmenistan and the favorable investment climate created here, and the presence of an appropriate legal framework. All this makes it possible to effectively invest large funds in the development of oil and gas fields, in the construction of infrastructure facilities.

Noting the holding's constructive approach to strengthening mutually beneficial business ties, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the main requirement for contractor companies is the use of the latest technological solutions and advanced scientific developments in the implementation of any project, as well as compliance with environmental safety standards. In this context, the leader of the nation gave the businessman a number of instructions related to the implementation of joint projects.

At the end of the meeting, Makarov, confirming the readiness of the holding he headed to continue to take an active part in the large-scale transformation programs successfully implemented in the country in various fields, assured the head of Turkmenistan that the company would make every effort to successfully promote fruitful cooperation and continue to approach in the most responsible way the fulfillment of our partnership obligations.
