BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. From January through March 2022, Turkmenistan exported more than 10.07 billion cubic meters of gas to China, Trend reports via Business Turkmenistan news agency.
Last year, about 44.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were transported through the pipeline to China.
In just 12 years, a total of about 390 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been delivered to China through the pipeline.
The pipeline with a total length of 1,833 km and a projected annual capacity of 60 billion cubic meters of gas was put into operation in December 2009.
At the same time, Turkmenistan and China cooperate in a number of areas, in particular in the energy sector.
Recently, the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) announced that it considers natural gas as a key foundation of the future energy system and an important starting point for building a low-carbon economy.
