BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. UAE businessmen acquired urea during trading on May 27 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing Orient news.

Entrepreneurs from UAE purchased 250,000 tons of urea grade B on the exchange at a price of $357.5 per ton. The total amount of the transaction was $89.3 million.

According to the exchange, on May 16, businessmen from the UAE purchased cotton yarn in the amount of $ 333,400.

Meanwhile, the main producers of urea in Turkmenistan are the Garabogazkarbamid and Tejenkarbamid plants.

The Garabogazkarbamid plant is the largest in Central Asia and is designed to manufacture 1.15 million tons of fertilizers per year.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
