BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. Specialists of the Turkmengeology State Corporation have discovered new freshwater reserves in Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).
As a result of hydrogeological exploration carried out by specialists in the territory of the city of Turkmenabat and the Charjew district of the Lebap region in the east of Turkmenistan, drinking water reserves with a total area of 130.8 square kilometers were discovered. They are registered as an underground deposit "Turkmenabat".
The volume of reserves of this deposit will allow the uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water to the local population.
Furthermore, Turkmengeology is also working on the study of the geological structure of the formations and the identification of hydrocarbon resources.
