BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Businessmen from Tajikistan acquired urea during trading on August 10 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing Orient news.
Entrepreneurs from Tajikistan purchased 5,000 tons of urea grade B on the exchange at a price of $455 per ton. The total amount of the transaction was $2.2 million.
Furthermore, according to the exchange, the price of Turkmen urea increased by 60.7 percent compared to previous transactions.
The main producers of urea in Turkmenistan are the Garabogazkarbamid and Tejenkarbamid plants.
The Garabogazkarbamid plant is the largest in Central Asia and is designed to manufacture 1.15 million tons of fertilizers per year.
