BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan on foreign policy Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in Turkmen-Uzbek political consultations, Trend reports citing the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on priority issues of bilateral and regional partnership, and also discussed prospects for expanding Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in the context of implementing the agreements reached during the visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan in July this year, and a solid package of bilateral documents signed following the visit.
Noting the impressive potential for the intensification of productive and long-term cooperation between the two countries, the interlocutors confirmed their readiness to ensure its effective implementation.
At the end of the meeting, noting with satisfaction the high level of interstate relations, the parties expressed confidence in the further successful development of the Turkmen-Uzbek dialogue, built on the principles of mutual respect, equality and consideration of mutual interests.
