BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Derweze State Power Plant, located in the Ahal region in the south of Turkmenistan, increased electricity generation from January through August 2022, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.
During the reporting period, the power plant generated 1.88 billion kWh of electricity.
The growth rate of production in comparison with the first 8 months of last year amounted to 103 percent.
The power plant provides electricity to consumers of the Ahal region and the city of Ashgabat.
Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia and plays an important role in creating additional opportunities for further increasing the volume of supplies.
The country will increase electricity exports by 8.7 percent by 2025 and this will be facilitated by the construction of new power plants, transmission lines, modern transformer substations, and distribution facilities.
Currently, Turkmen's electricity is supplied to Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
