BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Turkmenistan has significantly increased imports of wheat and meslin (a mixture of wheat and rye) from Kazakhstan in the first 7 months of 2022, Trend reports citing Energyprom.kz.
During this period, Turkmenistan imported 217,900 tons of wheat and meslin from Kazakhstan, which is more than 9 times higher than in the same period of 2021 (22,700 tons).
In value terms, Turkmen imports of these products from Kazakhstan amounted to over $78.7 million, which is more than 13 times higher than from January through July last year ($5.7 million).
Meanwhile, during this time Kazakhstan exported 3.3 million tons of wheat and meslin worth $1 billion. Export growth in physical terms amounted to 3.2 percent, and in monetary terms - 40.4 percent.
