BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 1. The 11th meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian Joint Commission was held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on November 30, 2022, Trend reports citing the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was chaired by: from the Turkmen side - Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldi Rejepov, from the Austrian side - head of the Foreign Economic Relations Group of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Economic Affairs of the Republic of Austria Franz Wessig.

During the meeting, topics and projects in the field of construction, infrastructure, energy, environmental protection technology and consulting were discussed and readiness was expressed to assist in establishing contacts with interested structures of both countries.

Furthermore, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources and transport and logistics links between Turkmenistan and Austria, in particular the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which today is becoming a link between the countries of the Central Asian region and Europe.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to hold the 12th meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian joint commission in 2023 in Austria.
