BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 20. Turkmen Balkan shipyard and ship repair plant together with the Russian Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation plan to build two dry cargo ships, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was stated by the General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers Mammethan Chakiyev at the Turkmen-Russian business forum, which is being held in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat.
He stressed that a joint memorandum on the construction of two bulk carriers was signed between the Turkmen Balkan plant and the Russian Ak Bars corporation, and also added that procedures are currently being carried out to draw up a contract and start the implementation of this project.
The Turkmen-Russian business forum is being held in Ashgabat on January 19-20. Its participants discuss cooperation in the fields of industrial cooperation, construction, information technology, digitalization, transport and logistics complex, education and other areas.
