BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. The volume of electricity produced in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan in 2022, has been published, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, 3.9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity have been produced at the Lebap and Watan power stations, as well as the Seydi Thermal Power Station.

High production rates make it possible not only to provide domestic consumers with electricity without interruption, but also to export it. Part of the electricity generated in the Lebap region is supplied to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.

Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia.

It is expected that by 2025, the country will increase electricity exports by 8.7 percent, which will be facilitated by the construction of new power plants, power lines, modern transformer substations and distribution facilities.
