BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 11. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the "Program of socio-economic development of the country for 2023", which is aimed at increasing the Turkmenistan's GDP by 6.5 percent this year, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, the document was approved at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to summarize the development of the country's economy for 2022 held on February 10.

In accordance with this program, it is planned to increase the GDP growth rate this year to 6.5 percent, as well as to steadily develop sectors of the national economy and regions of the country, achieve the output of production enterprises at full capacity, create about 3,000 new jobs through the construction of modern enterprises.

The program provides for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, and the share of the private sector in the GDP structure (not including the fuel and energy complex) is planned to increase to 71.3 percent.

The document was approved in order to successfully implement the Presidential Program of socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's GDP growth rate in 2022 was 6.2 percent.
