BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan) Carlos Enrique Valdes de la Concepcion, who arrived in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) on a working visit, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The Cuban Ambassador presented copies of his credentials. Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment to the post, the Turkmen side expressed readiness to provide him with all possible assistance and support in strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, stressing the importance of the successful development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Cuba in the political, diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian fields, the parties expressed their intention to increase all-round cooperation and readiness to work together to further intensify them, and also discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic partnership.

Furthermore, the importance of establishing inter-parliamentary ties, as well as enhancing cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries was stressed.

The sides discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of international organizations such as the UN, in particular through the Friends of Neutrality Group for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development.
