BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 17. The number of tourists from Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan amounted to 17,684 people for 2022, Trend reports via the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, compared to the pre-COVID period, the tourist inflow from Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan has decreased. The number of tourists from Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan in 2019 amounted to 22,904 people.
Furthermore, a total of 19,675 tourists arrived in Turkmenistan from Azerbaijan in 2020, and only 18,693 tourists in 2021.
Meanwhile, 1,497 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Turkmenistan in January 2022, 1,357 tourists in February, 4,441 tourists in spring months, 4,709 tourists arrived in summer months, and 4,047 tourists in autumn.
Turkmenistan was visited by 1,633 tourists from Azerbaijan in December last year.
Turkmenistan ranks 2-nd in Central Asia in terms of the number of visitors from Azerbaijan in 2022, after Kazakhstan (40,006 tourists).
